Congressman Rob Wittman announced his acceptance to two general election debates in the First District leading up to Election Day on Nov. 3.This announcement follows a letter he sent to his Democratic opponent, Qasim Rashid, on stanley cup Jun stanley thermobecher e 24, inviting him to participate in two debates during this election cycle.Wittman accepted the first debate on July 24 and the second debate on Aug. 5. Many of us who have followed politics for a generation or more have found things to admire in John McCains role upon the political stage鈥攑articularly in his straight-talking stage in the 2000 race for the Republican nomination.He has been a frequent disappoint stanley uk ment since then, and theres something pathetically dispiriting about how he has comported himself in his current bid for re-election as his Party has become the Party of Trump.It has been widely recognized that McCain has been uncomfortable with the position that Trumps becoming the Republican standard-bearer has put him in.On the one hand, hes felt compelled to criticize some of the more egregious statements made by his partys standard-bearer. And on a personal level, McCain doubtless does not forget how Trump belittled McCains wartime sacrifices.
